Executive Summary:
I am a clinical pharmacist at National Taiwan University (NTU) Hospital and a clinical associate professor at NTU. After graduating from the Graduate Institute of Clinical Pharmacy at NTU, I joined NTU Hospital, where I currently oversee clinical services for the Stroke Center, Neurological Ward, and Anticoagulant Outpatient Clinic. My practice spans the full continuum of stroke care, from acute management to secondary prevention.
In addition, I spent six months as a research fellow at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where I further developed my research interest in the relationship between direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) concentrations and clinical outcomes. Since 2016, my research team and I have established a cohort of patients with atrial fibrillation taking DOACs, as well as a cohort of patients who experienced acute ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke while on DOAC therapy (established in 2018). In 2022, we implemented rapid DOAC concentration testing at our institution, which now directly guides critical clinical decision-making for emergent stroke cases.
